Girls’ Schools outshine boys in Ukambani

Girls’ secondary schools in Lower Eastern triumphed over their male counterparts in last years KCSE examination.
Precious Blood Girls Kilungu came first in Makueni County, Machakos Girls led in Machakos County while Muthale was top in Kitui County.
The Catholic Church sponsored Precious Blood Girls, posted a performance index of 68.183 to top in Makueni followed by Mbooni girls which scored an index performance of 64.802.
The school which also came first in Eastern province was ranked position 49 nationally with a mean score of 9.54.
The school principal Sister Mary Wachira said the school scored two straight As,A-21, 33 B+,16B,18B-,3C+ and 2C plain.
Out of 95 students,93 qualified to join public universities.
Makueni Boys which was recently elevated to a National School led the pack of boys schools in the county with an index performance 63.891 followed by Makueni Girls and Mukaa Boys in 4th and 5th positions.
Kitui county academic powerhouse Muthale girls posted a performance index of 65.211 to emerge tops.
