Turmoil in Machakos Land Registry
He pointed that this Registry had raised concern within the locals over poor and corrupt services. So lethargic is service delivery at the registry that it takes over a month to obtain results of property searches. Issuance of Title Deeds and Grants are a nightmare due to always absent Land Registrars. Even when some registrars are available, it turns out to be vital tools like Office Seals are under lock and key and in most times tucked in the handbag of the the County Registrar.
Mr Theuri declared "All efforts within perimeters of LSK will be applied to deal with the escalating problem at the lands registry in Machakos to free off burden of services the locals are facing"
So dire is the situation in Machakos that the LSK boss had to visit Machakos to express his concerns with Governor Wavinya Ndeti in the company of LSK Vice Chairman Faith Odhiamboi and the entire Council of LSK accompanied by the South Eastern branch officials.
During the visit, the officials, who were received by the County Attorney, Mr James Kathili, County Secretary, Dr Muya Ndambuki and Chief of Staff, Mr Lawrence Ngovi agreed to have a mutual collaboration with the LSK South Eastern branch to be providing the County Government with legal advice on best practices on various aspects of legal matters including legislation, inter and intra-governmental disputes resolution.
