Judgement Day for Priest
SUSPENDED Catholic Priest John Wambua Makewa will know his fate on June 18. He could face life imprisonment if convicted of the attempted murder charge.
Tawa Senior Resident Magistrate Waititu Gichimu set the new date after he was unable to deliver judgment on Makewa in a case where the priest faces attempted murder on Father Fidellis Nzuki.
The magistrate had set June 4 2012 to deliver the landmark judgement but when the court convened, he told relatives and supporters of the two priests that he was in the process of writing the judgement.
He explained that he failed to be ready as he was involved in workshops outside his station.
The packed court soon emptied after the announcement.
