Bid to reconcile Don's
family feud collapses
By Anchor Reporter
KANGUNDO MP Johnson Muthama has washed his hands out of the troubled Relationship between University of Nairobi Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof peter Mbithi and his elder brother.
Muthama had taken the role of a mediator with the intention of ending the bad blood between the two siblings until he hit the wall with attendant embarrassment when Prof Mbithi allegedly snubbed him at the eleventh hour.
Prof Mbithi is locked in protracted multiple litigation with his brother Joseph Mwanzia Mbithi over a host of issues, among them alleged demolition of Mwanzia’s house by the Prof or his agents, alleged attempt by the Prof to make sexual entreats to his niece, Faith Ndunge, who is a daughter of Mwanzia, among other issues.
The row has so far culminated in the jailing of Ms Ndunge for three months for allegedly sending abusive messages to the professor as we went to press. Meanwhile, the family is locked in court as Professor Mbithi resists criminal charges being preferred against him over the demolition of the house. Mwanzia has vowed to seek criminal prosecution against the Professor under all cost.
The Anchor has obtained a letter written by Mr Muthama that he copied to the commissioner of Police where he concluded that Prof Mbithi was using his office to harass his poor brother and that the law should be left to take its course.
