Machakos picks Principal of the Year





Ms Mulatya: Machakos County's Principal of the Year
Machakos Girls High School Principal Ms Flora Mulatya has been voted the Machakos County principal of the year.

She won the award of the best principal after beating her other colleagues.
The school emerged tops in Machakos county in last year’s KCSE examination,beating their perennial academic rivals,Machakos Boys high school which came second with a mean score of 9.1.
The institution posted an improved mean score of 9.238 in last year’s KCSE examination compared to the previous year’s 8.8 mean grade.
MsMulatya will now represent Machakos at the national contest to pick the national principal of the year to be held in Nairobi in June.
Machakos District Education Officer Richard Midamba was also voted the DEO of the year in the county.
A thrilled Ms Mulatya attributed the school sterling performance to God’s will, hard work by both the teachers and students and unequivocal support from the School’s Board of Governors led by Justice Kassanga Mulwa, parents and stakeholders.
“We expected improved results because we seriously prayed God to enable us excel in addition to our adequate preparedness for the examination”, she added.
