Wavinya's askaris ordered detained for five days

Ten bulky county askaris who manhandled an MCA will remain in detention for five days.

The second respondent- Joshua Mutiso is a brother of the driver of Governor Wavinya Ndeti's lead escorted car and was recently conscripted to the enforcement unit.

The officers working under the inspectorate department were  arraigned in court over the incident where the Kalama MCA Boniface Maeke was left injured after an ugly confrontation with the said officers.
 The askaris did not take plea after the prosecution requested for 14 days to complete investigations.

The 10 officers will be charged with robbery with violence,assault and causing disturbance within the court premises.

The court ordered their detention at the  Machakos Police Station,waiting determination of whether they will be detained for the 14 days the prosecution side requested for or they will be released on bond a ruling that is expected to be made on Friday at 9.00 am.
