By Martin Masai, Makueni January 2016
FORMER Cabinet Minister Gideon Ndambuki will be running for the Makueni Gubernatorial seat in 2017.
Speaking to The Anchor, Ndambuki said he has the experience it takes to help the Makueni people realize their development agenda. " I have the experience. I have done it in Kaiti under CDF and I think it will be better in the devolved system of Government. Together with Kaiti people, we have done hospitals, roads, schools, electrification and water projects. With the massive funding in the county of Makueni, the story can only get better, Mr Ndambuki added.
He did not indicate the party he would be running under but stressed the unity of the Kamba people will be paramount. " I will be in a party that seeks to unite the Kamba vote. I will be with the people so that together we can have a powerful voice in National politics", he added.
His declaration brings to two the known contenders for the position. Prof.Kivutha Kibwana, the incumbent Governor will be defending the seat under the Muungano party which is affiliated to CORD, a coalition led by Raila Odinga- with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford-k leader Moses Wetangula as co-principals
