Riots rock Machakos again

MACHAKOS town ground to a standstill today following a riot after the death of a student shot by police on Monday.
The victim- Brilliant Anusu, a second year student Machakos University was shot by police on Monday during skirmishes on Machakos streets. A bullet tore through his abdomen and exited at the back and died while receiving treatment at Machakos Level 5 Hospital.
The students were protesting against increased insecurity in and around the university where a number of them have been mugged and robbed. Matters have been worsened after a police officer was arrested after robbing one student of his phone over the weekend.
