School Fires; Seven students charged


Seven students 
face arson charge

Seven students  have been charged in Makindu Law Court with the burning of their school dormitory. They were charged before Makindu Resident Magistrate Damaris Karani.
The students from Kikumini Secondary School in Makueni County  are alleged to have torched the school on June 2, 2018 where property worth Sh 680,000 was destroyed .
Two of them will be remanded till August 2, 2018 after failing to raise a bond of sh 10,000 each .They will be locked up at Emali police station till  they will raise the amount. The seven are among 19 other students who were arrested on  June 14,2018 in connection with arson.The other twelve will be used as witnesses in the case against the seven who were charged with arson.
The case will be heard on October 11, 2018.
