Wiper loses petition in Makueni

A Makueni Court has today dismissed an election petition filled by a Wiper candidate challenging the election of the Member of County Assembly(MCA) for Kisau-Kiteta in Mbooni Sub county with costs.

Denis Masavu former area MCA had petitoned the declaration of Darius Mainga as the MCA for Kisau Kiteta Ward in the general election.
The Magistrate M.N Mutegi dismissed the petion for lack of sufficient evidence to show the election was flawed. The court affirmed that Mainga fairly won the election by garnering 3, 626 votes while his challenger Denis Masavu garnered 3,616 votes .
The case was dismissed with costs amounting to Kes 1M to the petioner .
Mainga said after the declaration that he would to deliver his campaign manifesto to the people of the ward.
