The County Government of Kitui yesterday kicked off countywide public participation forums for the financial year 2022/ 2023. This year's projects are centred towards a 16 point - sector development plan as prioritized in Governor Julius Malombe's development plan for the people of Kitui.
Among the projects set to be implemented in the 2022/2023 financial year include, *Pro- poor*- a program meant to cushion needy students from the burden of school fees, the *identification of sand dam sites* for the provision of water and the *Community Level Infrastructure program (CLIDP)*.
In Athi Ward of Kitui south sub county, the grading of roads, fencing of hospitals, the levelling of Athi Market among others were given priority among what the residents wanted to be implemented in their respective places.
The County Government of Kitui has set aside a total of Ksh.120M to support needy students under the Pro- poor program, Ksh. 700 thousand for CLIDP projects and Ksh 1Million for the Identification of sand dam projects as the Governor seeks to improve the livelihoods of the people of Kitui.
