The Government of Makueni County today hosted a delegation drawn from the Council of Governors, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and United Nations Development Programme to discuss how land use plans can be mainstreamed in the third County Integration Development Plan (CIDP)
Through the Forest and Land Restoration Action for Kenya (FLARAK), The Ministry in collaboration with the CoG intends to develop guidelines for mainstreaming land use plans in the CIDPs.
The UNDP has contracted Prof. Lawrence Esho to lead the process which is currently being piloted in four counties Makueni among them.
Lands and Urban Planning Chief Officer Jackson Daudi said this will make sure Makueni CIDP which is on its preparation stages integrates key developmental issues to ensure our resources are sustainably utilised in the next five years
