The Vervet chewed
my sweets- Mutula

By Daniel Kituku

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, busy in his office discharging his duties was today caught by surprise when he noticed a young monkey comfortably seated in his office.

He was alone in his office when he heard some strange movements. He then spotted the small monkey with golden fur and a pitch black hands and face- known as a Vervet- rummaging through a container with sweets. The only visitor in the office by then was enjoying sweets placed at the top of one of the office desks.  It then jumped and sat a sofa  opposite him and eye-balled him as it squeezed a bottle of water into its mouth. It had used an open window and as soon as the Governor clicked away using his phone, the animal used the same window to exit.

"Never a dull moment as I work .This chap made himself comfortable as I watched and proceeded to eat all my sweets " Mutula posted in one of his WhatsApp  group he runs.

Members of the group title MKJ termed the visit as good gesture relating the visit with Mutula's slogan of " Wauni wa Kwika nesa na Ulungalu" which translates to The Thirst of taking Good and Just actions " A good a  neighbour keeps you company though he comes unannounced. " A member reacted. Others said Monkeys are  very friendly and love sweet snacks .

".This one is very friendly and always preys on sweet snacks .it's common in beach hotels and very sharp .#Co- existence" , posted his  Chief Officers - Environment  Japheth Kiminza .
