Needy Kitui learners get Kes.120m

 Each ward to get over Kes. 2m

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today launched the Kes.120 million Pro Poor Fees Support distribution exercise to support needy learners across the county.

Residents from each of Kitui's 40 Wards will benefit with bursaries worth Kes. 2.160 million. Out of the entire fund, bursaries will get Kes. 86,400m. the remaining money from the kitty will be used for infrastructure development.
Speaking to education stakeholders as he commissioned the disbursements at the County Headquarters the Governor said beneficiaries at the University and national tertiary colleges will get Kes. 10,000, Form One students at National Schools will get Kes.20,000, other boarding secondary school learners will get Kes. 10,000, Day Schools' learners Kes. 5,000, learners in the Vocational Centers and county based colleges will get Kes. 5,000 and special needs learners benefiting with Kes 10,000 each.
The county chief thanked other stakeholders among them commercial banks, national government bursary, NGOs, CDF and other philanthropists whose invaluable contribution remains significant. He said his government will deliver services to all the residents of Kitui indiscriminately to improve livelihoods for all.
The governor commended the county assembly for being instrumental in promoting the socio-economic welfare of residents by supporting development initiatives that directly support residents.
